What Is a Jib Crane?
A jib crane is a lifting device consisting of an arm that rotates on a fixed column or wall. It typically has a rotation angle between 180 and 360 degrees and covers a specific work area. Frequently used on production lines, loading docks and maintenance areas.
Types of Jib Cranes
Column-Mounted (Pillar-Type) Jib Cranes
Mounted on a free-standing column, this model can rotate a full 360 degrees. It offers capacities up to 5 tons and requires only a foundation independent of the building structure for installation.
Wall-Mounted Jib Cranes
Mounted on a load-bearing column or wall, this model offers a 180-degree rotation angle. It does not occupy floor space and is easily integrated into existing facilities.

Comparison with Overhead Cranes
Jib cranes have a lower investment cost than overhead cranes. However, the area they cover is limited. The most efficient combination in a production facility is to use an overhead crane as the main lifting system and a jib crane as an auxiliary lifting system at workstations.
